About Knowledge Builder Pro
Knowledge Builder Pro is a document preparation tool for people building AI assistants. It takes the files you already have — PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, Markdown, HTML — and turns them into clean, chunked text files that a ChatGPT custom GPT, a Claude Project, or your own RAG pipeline can actually retrieve from.
It exists because of a specific, repeated failure. People upload their documents to a custom GPT, ask a question the documents plainly answer, and get back something confidently wrong. Almost every time, the model is fine and the input is the problem: raw exports carry headers, footers, page numbers, and broken column layouts, and a retriever cannot tell those apart from real content. Feed it one enormous file and there is nothing specific for a question to match against.
Knowledge Builder Pro fixes that step and only that step. It strips the page furniture, normalises the formatting, splits the text into retrieval-sized chunks with overlap, and labels every chunk with its source and an approximate token count so you know it fits before you upload it. The output is plain .txt — no proprietary format, nothing locked in.
How we handle your documents
Text-based files are processed entirely in your browser and never leave your device. PDFs are sent to our server only to extract their text layer, and the file is discarded the moment the text comes back — it is never written to disk or stored in a database. We do not keep your documents, and we do not train anything on them. The privacy policy spells this out in full.
Who makes it
Knowledge Builder Pro is built and operated by Ventiq, a small software studio. It is a self-funded product with no investors and no sales team — questions go to a real person. If something is broken or missing, the support page reaches us directly, and feedback genuinely shapes what gets built next.
What it costs
The free builder handles one file at a time with no account and no credit card. Pro is $9/mo or $79/yr and adds batch processing, files up to 50MB, and control over chunk size and overlap. Full details are on the pricing page.
